Susana Rosas to Serve as Vice President of Major & Planned Giving

Meet Susana Rosas, Vice President of Major & Planned Giving, for the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation. A former Ladies For Literacy Member for over 5 years, Susana has taken on a full time position with our organization and our literacy cause. In this role, she will harness her expertise and passion for education to create a legacy society for the foundation and help ensure for the long-term sustainability of our important programs and mission in the Houston community.

Susana, a proud native of Houston with deep roots in the Hispanic community, embodies a fervent commitment to philanthropy and education. Having personally experienced the transformative power of education, Susana emerged as an advocate for empowering others through learning. Her journey as a first-generation student at the University of Houston ignited a passion for educational equity. Upon graduation, Susana became a development director at her alma mater.

Transitioning to the American Cancer Society, Susana served as a major gift’s director, fundraising for cancer research and the Hope Lodge campaign. Her nonprofit journey includes roles like director of corporate relations, executive director, and adjunct professor of corporate social responsibility.

Driven by an insatiable thirst for personal and professional growth, Susana earned her Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston. Her commitment to volunteerism extends beyond borders, as she has lent her expertise to nonprofit organizations in South America. Recognized for her exceptional ability to forge enduring relationships, Susana excels in aligning donor interests with organizational goals, fostering partnerships that transcend philanthropy. In every effort, Susana represents the ethos of service, exemplifying the belief that education and compassion can truly transform lives.
