Team Member Spotlight: Aisha D. Musa

Despite only joining the team a few months ago, Aisha Musa has thrived in her new role as Programs and Partnerships Coordinator alongside the strategic partnerships and programs team that manages Foundation initiatives like My Home Library, Raising A Reader, and Camp Adventure.

Aisha's love for books is evident in her top three recommendations: "And Then There Were None" by Agatha Christie, "The Silvered" by Tanya Hunt, and "Uprooted" by Naomi Novik. Her admiration for Agatha Christie extends to calling her favorite author, finding inspiration in Christie's timeless mysteries.

The piece of advice that has impacted Aisha is "Always go with your first choice." This philosophy reflects her decisive and confident approach to her work, ensuring that every decision is purposeful and aligned with her values.

When asked to describe the Foundation in one word, Aisha chose "Meticulous," believing everyone at the Foundation is very thorough in what they do and takes time to make sure their work is done well.

For Aisha, the most rewarding aspect of being part of the Foundation is giving free books to children. She recognizes the importance of fostering positive interactions with books, especially for students who may not have many opportunities to explore literature. Witnessing the joy on children's faces as they select books to keep is a heartwarming experience for Aisha and reinforces the impact of our literacy programs.

Reflecting on her journey at the Foundation, Aisha fondly recalls her first day, which coincided with the Ladies Guild Annual Membership Meeting. The picturesque location and the engaging introduction to the Foundation's mission made it a memorable and exciting start to her role.
